The march and rally in Milwaukee consisted of very joyful folks. Noone hammed for my camera. The
speakers spoke strongly and positively. The music makers made beautiful music. I attempted to
capture that which I saw as truthfully as I could. I thought a few of the other submissions caught
moments when the subjects hammed it up for the camera.

While I personally reflected on this, and had feelings of nostalgia. I worked at trying to find
the visual and psychological differences between the eras. And one of those differences seemed to
me the joy and the wide range in age, social groups and income brackets.

I can't imagine any photographer or writer for that matter not having an opinion these days. The
level of professionalism ultimately determines whether one allows personal opinion to overtake
objectivity.
