It would amaze you the amount of clothes that our local Goodwill and St
Vincent dePaul stores receive.
They are overwhelmed by the volume; they save it up until a semi load is
ready and then ship it out to go who knows where.  In Iowa, vehicles are
often given to charities, National Kidney Foundation most visibly.
But even more sadly, they discard all cameras they get in - can't test
them and don't want people returning them!
Of course, I've offered to take them all off their hands, to no avail as
of yet.
I agree that finding a bargain is OK, the donor may well have given a
whole bunch of other stuff that went for more $$.
