Hi Jim, Tina, Chandos, et al:

I'm just an older fellow who usually keeps to himself and just read what's
going on here on the LUG, but now I have something to say.

I realize that some on this list are professionals - making their living
from photography. For them I can say I understand the switch to digital.
It makes sense. We very much enjoy seeing your work and I suspect most of
us don't much care if it is film or digital. It really doesn't matter.

But there are many on the list who have invested heavily in their Leica
equipment and, for whatever reasons, wish to continue to shoot film. Some
will no doubt buy digital equipment as well. In the end, they may also
switch.

But I believe that for a long time to come, many of us will continue as we
do now - shoot film, have it processed or process it ourselves, scan, print,
and enjoy. Because film gives us something that pleases us more than
digital. We may even upgrade our equipment - at considerable expense, of
course. That's part of the fun.

By 2010, Jim, I may have to just sit in my easy chair and shoot pictures of
my TV screen 'cause I may not be able to drive any longer. But I will still
be shooting film.

So, please, people, don't turn off the lights. And don't shut down the LUG.
There are still a lot of us here, and we aren't going anywhere as far as I
know.

Thanks,

Ted
