Nope - It's DonRs comments most people - who haven't spent enough time
with him at a Cape Cod Leica workshop to know that he doesn't have a
racist bone in his body ;-) - find deeply offensive and racist...

It isn't really all that complex.
Use the term one feels is appropriate.
If it offends someone (which someone did),
then apologize (which Kurt did), then move
on (which we haven't).

I don't think anybody holds Kurt for anything
after he apologized.
