Try adding to the weak economies in North America and Europe the
deflation/depression that has afflicted Japan for over 15 years. And the
fading yen. Curiously one might have thought that the run-up of the Euro vs.
the dollar (that has made dollar-denominated selling prices over 30% cheaper
in Euros in the past six months) would have offset it. Apparently not.
