Subject: [Leica] hello everyone

Introductions are in order; I've been a longtime
lurker and enjoy reading the tips and tiffs when I
have the time. I'm a kid photojournalist living in
Montreal. My love affair with glass, brass and film
began when I inherited a Leica III from my
grandfather. The thing never left my hands! Soon
after I was going to the library and spending hours
with Robert Frank, Mary Ellen Mark, Eugene Richards
and
Elliot Erwitt (to name a few favorites). Two years
ago I decided to try and make photography my
profession.

Now I string for a weekly paper and shoot stills for
the NFB. Humble beginnings, but I love it and it
beats working in a record store...

Anyways, I picked up a cheap scanner and am now able
to contribute some images. There's not much up yet,
but take a look:

One of the galleries is temporary, for Sonny's
glamour contest.
The other is a chunk of an ongoing photo essay.
More to come, when I have a minute or twenty.

The LUG can be a great venue for sharing ideas - all
comments & criticisms are welcome.

FWIW, I shoot almost everything with a beater M4-P
and a 28/2.8 or a 35 'cron. Sometimes I also use a
hefty SL2 with a 50 or a 90. I often dream of getting
new lenses, but it's amazing how much can be done with
1 prime if that's all you've got on you.
Tri-X and Rodinal 1:25 used to be my preference.
Now I like HP5+ in XTOL 1:2.

Liam
