Have you tried to set the scrath disk within photoshop 
 >>preeference>>plugins & Scratc disk?
- - and do you have plenty of free disk space !
How much memory do you have on you pc ?
Have you tried to free more ram for photoshop under >>preference>>memory 
& image cahce
