Jim,

no doubt you will get many responses.

The Gitzo 1228, although great for traveling and hiking, is too light for a
Hasselblad - period.
The Arca B1 is one of the best and a good investment. The Acratech would be
a good compromise at a savings over the B1.
For Leica M as well as Hasselblad ClearSight plates are in order especially
the foot modification (if you are going for either tripod head).
