The R4 is not an easy camera to service and may require service more 
often than usual. Some, mostly early ones, are real lemons. The R4s and 
up are much much better cameras. My Leica tech charges significantly 
more to service R4 cameras and offers a much shorter warranty period on 
R4 cameras as well.
