No, you are not dreaming, the SA focuses on the cam to about 28" and
then you are in the guess zone to about 16".  If you include DOF you can
get pretty good images down to 12" or so.

Am I dreaming, or isn't it true that it focuses that close, but ceases
to be rangefinder coupled at something over two feet?

My 21 3.4SA focusses to 16 inches...

I wish I could get closer with my 50 summicron though (without buying a
new lens).
