Excuse me...but lumping the entire population of a nation into one
rather
broad heritage category just might rankle the members of that nation.
Canada
has a wonderful, varied and multicultural history. Yes, the British
played a
significant role in its history. But so did France. Not to mention The
Ukraine, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, a host of East European
nations,
India, China, Japan (just a few of the Asian countries) and Africa. Oh,
I
should mention Cree, Algonquin, Haida, Inuit, etc....did I miss anyone?
Not
intentional, but it is a rather long list...pretty much every nation on
this
earth. How about Americans, Mexicans, Peruvians, Australians, New
Zealanders...I needn't go on.

So I defend "Mr cranky pants" when our country is erroneously relegated
as
the younger sibling of Britain. We are Canadian, and damn proud of it!

Humph!

Now, back to my Merlot (too early for scotch...) And being Canadian, I
hope
I've made my point in the most diplomatic manner possible ;-)
