Her Majesty  has indeed been a devoted Leica M user
for a very long time -- almost since the start of the
M era.

While the stamp was issued in 1986, the photo with the
M3 and 50/2 in hand was taken back in the 1950s, when
she was still quite youthful. But I believe she was
using that M3 well into the late 1970s or later -- I
have seen photos of her in full maturity at various
horse races with that trusty M3 around her neck.

Elizabeth II currently uses an M6 classic, in silver
chrome. While Lager illustrates a Leicaflex with
ERII's logo engraved, I've never seen any evidence of
her really being a Leica SLR user.

I feel certain that she is not awaiting a digital
Leica with any of the enthusiasm displayed by so many
LUGgers. Her Majesty simply does not do Photoshop.
