Yup!  That's not bad.
As a point of reference, that lens has better edge quality than the Nikkor
18-35 that came with my D100.

...OK... Now on to the chrome. The REAL test!

I'm in the equipment planning stage for a trip (funding not conformed yet,
though) where there is a good chance the equipment may not survive. 

After my last trip to central Africa "Green Fuzzy Things" ate an F3P and an
80-200 2.8

I won't have gear insurance or coverage from a client on this trip so I
would hate to sacrifice Leica gear I can't afford to replace. If the VC lens
are "good enough"... they get to be the cannon (not Canon) fodder.  As for
the digital cameras.... who cares about the digital gear anyway :^)  They
are just big BIC lighters.

Oslo looks interesting. A friend of mine worked in Oslo for MSF for a number
of years. Loved it...but wasn't getting paid enough to really enjoy it :^)
