Hi B.D.,

I saw it one day while reading an article on "The Power of the Black & White
Image." And because it was along the lines of what I've always believed in
and used for years in my lectures that,

"When you photograph people in colour you photograph their clothes.
"But when you photograph them in B&W, you photograph their souls!"

And today with the pictures from Darfur by Nachtwey, the Harry Reasoner
quote seemed to fit perfectly.

Absolutely and the exception for the reason stated. If it was a segment on
the 6 O'clock news it wouldn't still be burned into our mind's eye as well
as stills from the past.

>>>>BTW - I finally got my hands on a physical copy of Michael Hintlian's
Digging - a Leica-shot book. WOW!! Gorgeous reproductions of truly
impressive photographs - a MUST for every LUGlibrary.<<<<<

I'm getting a signed copy from Michael next Monday when I'm in Boston on the
way to the Leica Seminar. So now I'm really looking forward to it and a
place in my photo book library here at home.
