Hello Norm,

It's true, the Epson drivers interpolate to 360 ppi. For those using Epson 
printers with the Piezo (dedicated B&W) plug-in, the higher the resolution 
the better the print.

Magazine and book printing is a different story... 

There is a magazine called "Byzance" that is published in France - (can be 
found in 18 countries) - All the pictures in this magazine are made with a 
Sony 707. The result is absolutely stunning! Even pictures that are printed 
full page look great. Ok they are not able to do any double page spreads and 
the full pages are rare, but all in all it's a great magazine. So if you are 
passing by Paris, have a look and see what a consumer grade 5MP camera can 
do.

BTW, the printer's name is Aubin. Very big company, prints many magazines.
