Leica is going to stick with backs certainly as their only digital option.
They did announce they are looking to come out with a digital R body. If his
makes them turn away from the back idea or continue with it I don't know.
My gut feeling says they'll just go with dedicated bodies. The back is real
big. And not all that easy to switch back and forth with film. You'd end up
just wanting one for film anyway. So you your thinking of the body you've
got with the digital back on it as your digital body.
Not that the back was a huge mistake they've learned a lot about digital by
coming out with it and it's put them in the ballgame.

I think Nikon is going to come out with a digital body which is associated
as their flagship digital product.
Just their the F line for film.
The Nikon F.
The Nikon F2.
The Nikon F5.
They need that for digital.
Their "D" cameras will be the FM's or Nikkormat's of digital run of the mill
bodies.

My wild guess or wish is that they'd call it the FD line. Canonistic as "FD"
may sound to an old timer such as myself.
