A very interesting thread regarding early M4-2s etc.....

I'm thinking of buying an R camera. Ok, yeah, last week I did say I 
would stop, but but but.........

Used R8s are now less than $1000 in Japan with 6-month warranties. 
This seems pretty good to me.  However, I do recall someone saying 
that early R8s also had problems?  Could someone refresh my memory as 
to what they are and how I can check for them?
