Douglas,

I am sorry I can't help you--I have the 20D but did not even bother 
installing the Canon software. I use ACDSee to do the initial editing of 
the images (as in which ones to keep and which ones to trash), and the 
Photoshop for the actual editing. Both programs cope with the CR2 files 
without any difficulty.
