Subject: [Leica] OT - Image Management Software Recommendations
From: scott at adrenaline.com (Scott McLoughlin)

I'm using the free Picasa right now, and it's no longer doing the trick.

My image database is growing very quickly with some big scans, and I
need to move the main image archive off to network drives, USB/FireWire
attached drives and/or removeable media (CD's DVD's).

Some surfing turns up Imatch and Extensis Portfolio. For the "personal
editions" iMatch is more nicely priced (~ $70) than Extensis Portfolio
(~ $200), but it's hard to compare the two just from their web sites.

Then's there's the popular ACDSee, but I don't know if that supports the
"offline or nearline" image storage.

Any experience with any of these software products or others? Thanks
much!

Scott
