Right on. Thanks. And a larger outer pocket might very well
come in handy in a number of situations.  But's it's with some
regret that I'd leave the canvas behind. 

I've come to really like the canvas bags. A Domke "little smaller"
bag does a great job with my D70 kit.  D70 body, 12-24 zoom,
35/2, 85/1.8, SB800, Sekonic 358 meter, maybe a 45/2.8 AI-P,
xtra D70 batter and AA's for the SB800. It all fits very, very
nicely with pretty much any lens (e.g., the 12-24)  mounted on
the D70. 

But for the Leica kit , which get the majority of use and hence
lugging around, I like the vertical weight distribution of a satchel.
I have CFS/CFIDS, and I kind of feel every ounce, as it were.
