I didn't see it mentioned but take a roll of outdated film, or cheap film, 
and practice loading over and over till you have the feel of it.

There may also be something wrong with the camera or take-up spool. The  
sprockets are supposed to pull the film through and the take-up spool will 
have a small amount of slippage to compensate for the radius of the spooled 
film as it fills up.

You should be able to wind the film though with the baseplate off and verify 
the sprockets and take-up are working.

Once you know it's loaded and working, practice loading with old film till 
you feel you have the loading down pat.
