I scan b&w as 16 bit grey scale. I can't see what would be gained by
scanning them as 48 bit RGB. Is there any difference other than larger
file sizes?

Steve

This is a question for which there might not be a clear right
answer. when scanning BW negs what are the pros/cons of scanning
grayscale vs. RGB? I ran across one commentator who said it did not
matter - others feel strongly that it should always be done RGB. BTW
I'm using a Nikon CoolScan and VueScan.
