The only way to repair a 50 3.5 or 2.8 is to replace the front  
element. Buy the best you can find and keep it that way. If you are  
looking for an M mount lens, then I would highly recommend the  
current 50/2.8. A stunning performer with modern hard front lens  
coatings.

A single scratch will probably have little or no effect. A few light  
scratches will start to soften the the image.
