I think the boom has slowed. A new model does not make the existing  
one stop working. Most are good enough for their owners and I don't  
think very many people will upgrade their cameras liketheir phone for  
example, in fact low end cameras will be replaced by phones perhaps.
I can't imagine changing my digital camera unless it is unreliable -  
then I won't put up with it however good it is.
There are a few idiots who have to get the latest and best - they are  
a good source of immaculate barely used second hand cameras :-)
