Jeffery,
Well, that might be why I live 1100 feet above sea level in a low fault line
area with very adequate water supplies.  Galveston is the barrier island for
the Texas coast and is at most 20 feet above sea level.  Cat 4 or 5 storm
with a 25 or above storm surge and Galveston ceases to exist.  New Orleans
is far enough from the coast that storm surges are not the same risk.

Not even the rocks live forever, but I don't choose to be a grindstone
either.  :)
