Subject: [Leica] Fuji Film and film--a prediction?

Wouldn't it be funny/ strange if all the digital camera companies rushed to
their certain demise like "lemmings to the sea" but Leica survived because
they stuck to a high quality product in a niche market?

Rochestor, even after restructuring, Fuji
made money. Just like modern management theory, if you are not 1 or 2 in a
market segment, you are going to fail in that market. Fuji is number 5
world wide so they will have to rethink their offerings. Fortunately, the
paper and chemistry business from all the Frontiers out there give them time
to hopefully figure out a winning strategy.

Kodak's major hope is the continuing success of their kiosk business. For
them the ribbon and paper is just like the old film business; a profitable
razor blade sort of arrangement.
