use a flash, take B+W or color shots, or anything else. I got the cold,
flat, shut down.

When my daughter got married recently, I told them that I would like to
shoot at the reception, but was reluctant to shoot the classic set up shots
after
the ceremony. They hired a local "professional."

I had my kit with me, and from the first moment I realized this person was
failing to do the job. She was bounce flashing the scene in a domed room
where the glass ceiling was 40 feet high.

I noted that she was letting others shoot, so I took a shot of every setup,
except the ones I was supposed to be in, and had my son shoot those.

We still don't have a wedding album from the photog, but they had pictures
from me the next weekend.

That said, by the time the reception was over, I wished I had shared the
job
with someone else. It is a lot of work to do it right. The room was dark
too, and though I hardly ever use flash, I thank God for the M7 and SF 20
on
an sc 28 extension.
