I seem to be in a minority here. I prefer Kodak colors to Fuji colors. My
long-time favorite color neg film was Kodak Supra 400, which I exposed at
200 when in bright light and 400 when I really needed it. Then Kodak made
it an export-only film. For a while I tried Fuji Press 400, (which seems
to be the same as the consumer 4-layer 400 film). Great greens, but I
don't quite like the yellows and reds, and flesh tones sometimes turn out a
bit pasty. (This could be my local processors, but I got the same results
when I scanned it as when they did).

Recently I started using Kodak UC 400, which Yellow Father's web site says
is the closest equivalent nowadays. I'm exposing it at 250 outdoors. I
like the way my Arizona desert pictures turned out. I'll have to shoot
some more around here to see how it does with greener surroundings, but so
far, I like it.

I don't shoot enough that I can try every emulsion that comes out, so I
usually stick with what I like until they take it away from me.

What is it about Fuji that so many people prefer? (Apart from the fact
that they seem far less prone to shoot themselves in the foot with their
marketing and business decisions?)
