The M8 appears to be a lovely camera, and it isn't even as overpriced
as I might have expected... but. As of today, I can run down to my
local Costco, pick up a Canon 5d and some crappy cheap lens (75-300, I
think), and eventually get it down to $2450 after $620 in rebates. Or
do it Amazon style if I don't want to pay tax. That's full-frame,
excellent image quality, great low-light performance, even Leica
lenses if I want 'em, for half of an M8.

Nikon's/Canon's prices will only get cheaper - and Leica is once more
in a position of being twice as expensive as the 'pro' competition. I
don't expect a new epoch of anything when you can buy a new M or half
of a Hyundai.
