No, I'm saying that the 5d is the most comparable 'pro body' (it isn't
weather-sealed, but it does produce large enough files to send out for
stock without upsizing) and its pricing (along with that of the d200)
will be the trend going forward. The M8 is no more a pro body than
either of those - it's not weather-sealed, low fps, 1.3x factor in
between. A great image sensor, and my 35 'lux would be a good normal -
but it's still half a Hyundai and so far out of the reach of most
people that it can't ignite any kind of Leica Renaissance.

It's not - that lens is simply the cheapest way to get a double rebate
and the 5d down to its lowest price.

The current double rebate for a Canon 5d is $600 and the double rebate
on a $160 75-300 lens (that you could turn around and sell if you
didn't want) is $20. $2941 from Amazon, $620 rebate, no tax. $2321.
