I see the smiley, but I don't think it would work anyway.  This
modification has to be done on a Tessar type lens.  The Summicron is a
Gauss derived design.

Thank you very much.

Adjusting the lens was hardly any trouble (and can be changed back any
time) but finding the right combinations of tubes and adapters was the
tricky part.  There I got lucky.  At a collectible camera show, the man
next to me held up the Leitz focusing tube and asked one of the vendors if
he wanted to buy it.  I realized it was just what I needed and bought it
for $20.00.  This joins to a Pentax screw extension tube via a LTM to
Pentax adapter, meaning that I can do close-ups by adding as many tubes as
needed, but normally the set-up focuses from 1.5 meters to infinity.

Keep those English landscapes coming. I've been to Britain twice, and love
reminders of the great times I had.  The last time, I might have passed
near where you are, riding a Honda VFR750 from Cambridge to Liverpool, on
my way to the Isle of Man TT.
