The tivoli's are also 12 volt,  so you could try it on 12 volt and see  if 
it 
works.  We have one of ours on battery, because there is no outlet  near it. 
 
I use a model car sealed battery, and charge it every few  weeks.
 
If it works on 12 volt then maybe only a little bit of damage.  Won't  hurt 
to try.
