Subject: [Leica] M8: "I think it's gonna be all right"

Hello Walt,
What would your scenario do to the price of a rare M8, one of the last
digital rangefinders ever produced, say, one of only 1000 specimens? ;-)
Electronic items do not always have to fall drastically in price. Have you
guys ever looked for a Sequerra FM tuner, for instance? Ha, you won't find
one of those for $500.

I didn't hesitate, I bought an M8. The camera is in the Fogg bag right
next to me. I'm looking forward to a weekend of playing with some IR cut
filters. I'm trying to get over my initial disappointment and work through
the issues, as Tina said. It is an adventure and I'm only two weeks into it.
I would hope that Leica has enough respect for their customers to continue
to upgrade the M8 so as to preserve its value.

  Regards,

  Larry

Larry,

I hope the M8s do well in the marketplace. If they fail to gain enough
appreciation then Leica might go down the tube. If that happens the
price of good used film M's will skyrocket. Don't resist, don't
hesitate,, go grab that gorgeous new M8.
