Subject: [Leica] Leica M8: "I think it's going to be all right"

Della. The current solution to Magenta-cured black clothes ( IR sensitivity)
is wrong. It is wrong for the consumer. If the M8
becomes an orphan, it is because Leica did not listen to its customers.

Specific filter placed on each and every lens will work, but are a bad fix
for the IR issue. Putting the IR filter coating on the
sensor cover is the only acceptable solution.

As far as the other issues, the FW and SW updates to the camera body,
including sending it to Solms for work, is the right solution
and is responsible.

I get the impression that the problems with the M8 are overstated.
People love to repeat stuff like that, no matter how seldom it occurs
- and you can look to the Kodak SLR and the Hexar RF to see where
that chitter-chatter leads. So I also wouldn't be surprised if the
M8 disappears as a result of kvetchmongering.
