Subject: [Leica] High ISOs Comparison

In my monitor, on my computer......

The Canon far blows away the M8 at ASA 2500 / 3600 in the cropped images.
Not even close.
Ditto ASA 1250

The amount of "noise" in the M8 is significantly higher, however, the
sharpness favors the Leica. This could be the 24 F1.4 lens vs
the 21 F2.8 lens compromises..... The Leica lens could be just plain
sharper.

In total, using the criteria of the total image, the Canon looks like a
"better" image maker in this comparison, for these light
levels and ASA.

Are these cameras the same price? Ditto the lens prices (new, street
prices). Apples = Apples?

BTW, the Canon 24 is a full 2 stops faster.....So at the same shutter speed
( or hand holding speed), the Canon can work at 1/4 the
light..... still favors the Canon.
