I agree with Larry Zeitlan.... the M8 is not what it should have been.
Maybe they will fix it and get it right, maybe not.

The truth is that I do not have $5K for a camera, any camera. I have a
Leica, Nikon 35 and LF system. I have more than $5K in
each, but to upgrade to digital M8 would require me to upgrade my camera
body, printer, SW, scanner, and lots of new SW. An I up to
it? No. It is both a monetary issue and a time issue. I have neither to
spare to make an M8 at home here. I am not a
professional photographer. I am an amateur who has never sold an image.
Having said that, I have lots of opinions.....and I do not
hesitate to speak my mind.... so here goes....

Larry...as you know, the M8 is electromechanical. There are 3 fault
modes.... Purely mechanical, purely electronic, and somewhat
purely, programming. It is in the area of programming that they blew it.

Yes, they will tell you it was sourced in.... it is not their fault....
nonsense. Intellectual research would have uncovered the
magenta issues. Testing would have revealed all the FW or SW problems.
They are 100% at fault.

They are new in the game, and like all newcomers, they were na?ve or stupid
( you get to pick your choice).

For $5K I would expect something to work and keep working.

Am I too demanding? My M6TTLs work just fine......
