Hoppy,

I hate to say it, but you are wrong.  ALL the lenses bearing the 
appellation  f2.8 50 mm  Elmar M, can be
fitted with the clip-on lens hoods..

Your certainty is misplaced. Ever since one of you guys told me that 
there really was a 50mm Elmarit
so was mine.!
