Mark, it sounds like we are all evangelists for the 3800. The R800/R1800 are 
still pigment printers though and similar inks to their
bigger brothers. You can turn off the gloss optimiser if desired. Of course 
you can use the photo-rags etc in them as well.

opposite.

Matt pigment black and whites.

It used to be Epson had a letter sized version of their pigment printers.
For some reason that's not the case any more....
