Two further notes:

I had NOT turned off the camera when changing lenses multiple times,  
in a dusty basement. So I created a dust magnet apparently.

The Glob on my sensor was large enough to make a mark about 1/3 of an  
inch across on a nine inch monitor image. Not a microscopic,  
obsessive mark needing a great deal of enlargement to see.
