I live about 500 meters from Richard; I'm sure we felt the same thing.

As soon as the ground stopped shaking (about 20 seconds) I hurried to the 
garage to check on the servers. It all seems OK. Somehow it felt a lot 
bigger 
than a 5.6.

I've been through half a dozen earthquakes. This is the only one that had a 
sound track. A few seconds before the tremors started, it sounded like a big 
diesel engine was rumbling in my driveway. I thought "Who on earth is 
running 
a compressor at this hour of the night", and then the shaking started.
