Hi Jim,

I have the 3170 and am pleased with it except for slides  - maybe I'm 
not so good at using it as you are - seems to me your first attempt is a 
success, and a nice photo BTW.
I purchased a Vuescan licence but never used it - getting the settings 
right was too long for me, and I got the digital virus in the meantime.

Wish you fun and satisfaction with your new toy.

Thanks for sharing the news, and good result.
No excuse not to keep them coming now.
