Subject: [Leica] minimum words, maximum impact

Thanks Steve and Gene, and again to Philippe for trawling the gallery to
drag these selections out for us.  I was surprised and delighted to find
something I'd done in one of your selections.

Gene - I don't have an 80/1.4, or any Leiuca R equipment.  The camera and
lens were borrowed, out of a sense of aspirational curiosity; I shot half
the set with this set-up and the other half with a Nikon 85/1.4 (using
both an F100 and an FA) to see if there was any practical difference and
maybe to think about immersing myself in Leica R gear.  The lens is
sublime, the body was fine.  But my Nikons suit me very well as far as my
SLR needs go and the 85/1.4 Nikkor was shown by this casual approach to
be just as good as the Leica lens for this type of work.  So I saved
myself some cash and spent it on film instead.

I'll give Rachel a call this weekend, maybe.
