Subject: [Leica] IMG: Ira's PAW 46: Mustangs and other winged things

Last weeks PAW (I always seem to be a week or two behind) was taken at The
Air Museum in Chino, CA. The PAW is a P-51D Mustang taxiing for takeoff.
That long nose makes it a challenge for the pilot to see where he's going:

My alternate is a Convair 240 awaiting restoration:

I'm also offering several more pictures taken that afternoon. What I am
hoping to show is some of the character of these aircraft without presenting
 a
full-frame aircraft portrait.

P-51D (the same aircraft as the main PAW):

Pitot Tube - P-26A Peashooter. This is the sole remaining flying example of
its type.

Dive Brakes - SBD Dauntless:

Engine cylinder - Boeing P-12E. Like the P-26, this is also the sole
remaining flying example:

Finally, this F-100D Super-Sabre, which flew as a target drone from NAS
China Lake. It was hit in the tail by a sidewinder missile, and still was
able
to land relatively intact:
