Nice to see you again.

For me, M8 revived the joy of photography that had eroded due to lack
of darkroom and such at home. However, even for an amateur like
myself, I could justify the cost as the incremental cost of shooting
is relatively small compared to film. It costs at least $30 US per a
roll of film, processing and scanning, so M8 is only about 175 rolls.
I've taken that many photographs in the first six months, and I was
able to capture moments that I may have not because of the hesitation
about the cost of running film.

The only adjustment I had to make was to replace some of the lenses I
owned. Instead of a 28mm, I have a 21mm, and the primary lens I use
is now the magnificent Summilux-M 35mm ASPH. My Noctilux is not
seeing much light these days :)

The IR issue is real, and it is completely solved by putting the IR
block filter. That's it. End of story.

Or you can do IR photography by putting R72 filter on it, blocking the
visible spectrum. Far better than the old Kodak High-Speed Infrared.

My dilemma now is whether to buy another body, or wait for an upgraded
version. As I shoot mostly under available light, I don't need any
more resolution than what it already has. Under less demanding
lighting conditions, aliasing artifacts or the Moire effect can be
observed, but they are usually not terribly distracting or relatively
easy to FIX.

Does anyone want to buy an M6?
