My Canon 511 packs aren't lasting as well either - one's completely 
failed, won't even connect with the charger.  I think they just 
eventually wear out after enough cycles....

The later 511A seems to be outlasting the original 511 but that could 
be because it's newer.  It definitely lasts longer in camera, always 
has.
