I also have to disagree.  The M8 uses a metal shutter, I believe the same as 
used in the R8/9.  I have yet to see a metal shutter curtain tear, wether it 
is a Leica shutter or a Nikon shutter, and I have been using them for over 
25 years.  I believe Tina's shutter jammed, when the curtain was out of 
alignment, from her initial report.
