Is this how we can all get those piercing eyes of that afghan girl ;-)

Saw this on another website for sharpening eyes in Adobe Lightroom.

Under Sharpening there is the Masking feature.

Open a portrait, zoom in so you see subject's eyes.

Hold Option(Mac) or Alt(PC) while adjusting the Masking feature. The image 
will go black but you can view detail in the eyes, adjust the masking as you 
see fit. I made a preset with masking set at 70. The eyes really "pop" out.
