Yes.  My backup for my M8 is another M8.  The backup for that one is 
an M7.  The backup for my Canon 5D is the Canon 1DMII, but I avoid 
carrying those two as long as the M8 will do the job and 99% of the 
time, it will.  I have maybe twice accidently moved the camera to 
"Timed" release.  As soon as I realized it, I turned it off and on 
and everything was fine.  I don't use it at very high ISOs because 
that's not the best use of the M8.  My Canon lenses are not as good 
as my Leica lenses and I much prefer a rangefinder to an SLR.  That's 
why I use an M8.  I had problems in Iraq with every camera because of 
the fine, fine dust blowing everywhere.  Digital is much worse than 
film where dust is concerned.
