When I was hiking in the Sierra Nevada mountains last week, there was
a group of kids (teens) with point-and-shoot cameras taking flash
photos of Mt. Whitney - several miles away. I've always wondered
why, if they have the immediate feedback of digital, they don't
realize the flash is doing nothing at that distance. Same for crowds
taking flash photos at football games! The first thing you should
learn when using a point-and-shoot digital is how to turn off the
flash and leave it off!
