[Leica] STILL should forget the S2 exists and hope for a GREAT R10 ...

I read most of the replies here and to other comments in the same context, 
and I still think I need to forget about the S2, hope it brings a needed 
injection of cash and technological co-operation to Leica , mainly so that 
when the R10 IS made, it will be a fantastic 35mm FF digital camera (as well 
as the M9 for those headed there). The Kodak CCD - it's true; they make and 
have made some of THE best around (from the 14n on) and I hope the R10 and 
M9 have a Kodak CCD, the OLED panel on top of the S2 is a little marvel - 
OLED's are the next great 'flat screen component" but are expensive now. 
Kodak sells a 7.5" diagonal OLED photo frame for over a grand, and the 
colors are beautiful, sharpness excellent - and hardly an electron wasted or 
heat generated (esp. in large OLED screens which are too expensive to mass 
produce and sell at the moment). Leica can connect a lot of things in one 
mount - hope the R10 is fully back compatible and forward usable in AF with 
new lenses. Weather-proof
ing is a great idea - but make no mistake - the R9/DMR is a tough unit!. But 
I am not interested in being able to adapt my R lenses to the S2. The S to R 
adapter may cost as much as an R10 ;-) anyway! buy any new body will I hope, 
be made to work with my 'older' ROMed lenses, and work better than adapting 
the R to the S2. The sensor and firmware will be made for that, and that 
alone. Well depth, size and angle of view all matched for the 'Original 
Leica 35mm format". Maybe even the back will be 'hinged' as on the DMR for 
easy sensor cleaning - that'd be nice! But my basic point here is, and 
remains, the S2 is not my body of choice for a R10 substitute; I want a 
field camera, not a studio camera I take into the field - although with it's 
specs, that can easily be done with the S2 - but not the price (I cannot 
afford one let alone a back-up). I want a real R10 made just for the R 
system now and AF-R lenses to come. No adapting or focal length calculating 
needed. and at a reasonable p
rice, maybe a third of the cost of an S2 Body. And I hope that happens.
